In this day and age e-mail has become a necessity, so to fill your needs Door Peninsula Internet offers e-mail, free with any of our Internet access accounts, and three ways to access it. Post Office Protocol version 3 (POP3) is the easiest, most common, and fastest way to access e-mail. Just use a POP3 compatible mail client such as Outlook Express, Microsoft Outlook, Eudora Lite, Netscape Mail, Mozilla Mail, or IncrediMail. Make sure to set the incoming mail server to "mail.doorpi.net". Internet Mail Access Protocol (IMAP) is arguably the best way to access e-mail from multiple locations. It is slightly slower than POP3 but, your e-mail is stored on the server, allowing access from any computer that your can configure a mail program on. Like POP3 set your incoming mail server to "mail.doorpi.net", but be sure to specify "IMAP" as the server type. Webmail requires no setup, and can be accessed from almost any computer with an internet connection. Like IMAP it leaves the messages on the server. Just point your web browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, Mozilla, etc.) to http://webmail.doorpi.net. For all outgoing mail (when using POP3 or IMAP) setup your mail client's outgoing mail server for SMTP server "mail.doorpi.net" port 25. |
