Windows 95 Setup Instructions

Click on Start->Settings->Control Panel

 

Look for the icon labeled "Internet" then double click on it.

Type in the home page address as "http://home.doorpi.net"
Then click on the "Apply" button in the lower right corner.
Click on the tab labeled "Connection"

Start the connection wizard by clicking on "Connect"

Select the middle option to set up a new connection, then click next.

Select using my phone line, then next.

Enter the phone number for the center that is local for you. For Sturgeon Bay it's 746-1952, for Algoma it's 487-2617.  The dash is not required. Uncheck the box for using area code and country code (unless you travel with this computer. Then click next.

Select "No" for advanced settings. Then next.

Select "Yes" to set up a new mail account. Then next.

Select "create a new Internet mail account" then next.

Type in a name for this account. Usually your email address works best.

Type in your full name or what ever you want people to see when they get mail from you.
Next.

Type in your email address then next.

Type in the server names "mail.doorpi.net" for both POP and SMTP servers.
Then click next.

Type in your username and password. Should be all lower case for the username.
The password will show as all *** but be sure it is correct using upper and
lower case as required. It is case sensitive. Then Next.

 

Select yes if you want to set up to receive newsgroup mailings. Then next.

Type in your email address.

Type in our NNTP server name as "news.doorpi.net"

Select "No" and click next.

Click finish. That's it!
